Junior HR Generalist

The Countsy Junior HR Generalist requires a detail-oriented individual who can assist the Benefits and LOA team with the day-to-day administrative functions. In this particular role, we are seeking a candidate who has strong experience administering Leaves of Absence and supporting Open Enrollment. Multi-state and location LOA administration would be ideal. The position requires an individual with incredible attention to detail who can identify errors, make the necessary fixes, and ensure that client files are in compliance. Working with both the Benefits and LOA Specialists, the Junior Human Resources Generalist will address issues related to all general benefit and Leave of Absence details including pay calculations. This role will also include special projects as needed.

The ideal candidate must be able to work with others with varying levels of Accounting, HR, and Payroll experience both within, and outside the organization. This position requires solid multi-tasking abilities, outstanding Excel skills, sound judgement, and a sense of urgency.

Major Responsibilities

Benefits Implementation and Administration

  • Reconcile benefit statements and resolve benefit problems

  • Administering (auditing, matching invoices, answering questions, collecting paperwork) employee benefit plans, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and Open Enrollment updates

  • Act as a liaison between employees and insurance providers by collecting information, calling insurance providers, and calling employee to follow-up

LOA Support

  • Assist with support requests for state specific leave research, LOA documents and tracking

  • Assist LOA Specialist with process and procedural updates as needed

  • Support client and team with timely response to information requests

  • Take ownership of work and follow tasks through to completion

  • Utilize research and knowledge management channels

  • Develop staff proficiencies with company practices, standards, procedures, tools and methodologies

  • Effectively interact with and support employee, management and internal staff on all leave details

  • Comply with Countsy policies and procedures

Employee Files and Auditing

  • Ensure that all employment documents are filed appropriately, conducting audits as necessary

  • Conduct audits of various payroll, benefit, and HR programs, and recommend corrective action

  • Update tracking spreadsheets

  • Audit HRIS/LOA systems and update employee information

  • Assist team with projects, as assigned

Qualifications

  • 1-2 + years of progressive HR experience

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, HR certifications strongly preferred

  • Self-directed and highly proactive with the ability to keep up with a very fast-paced environment

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with all levels of an organization, ability to receive constructive feedback

  • Ability to research and find answers, reach logical conclusions, and apply to clients’ situation

  • The successful candidate will be extremely well-organized, professional and discreet, with an energetic and accessible personality

  • Ability to complete tasks effectively with little supervision

  • Excellent time-management and ability to prioritize changing tasks with a sense of urgency necessary to meet goals, objectives and deadlines

  • Ability to adjust to new conditions, clients, and tasks

  • Knowledge of Company policy, procedures and organizational structure

  • Proficiency with various software, ERP systems or HRIS systems, and Microsoft Office.  

  • High level of proficiency with EXCEL.

Contacts

  • Will interact directly with Client’s staff at all management levels

  • Will interact internally with Startup CPO’s and other Countsy staff

  • Will need to interact with Client vendors and contacts

Requirements

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field or equivalent experience.  A Master’s Degree or PHR/SPHR designation are a strong plus.

  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year in an HR-related role.

  • Experience with software and systems is required, specific platform tool experience is a strong plus.

Compensation and Benefits Information

  • Base Pay Range:  $26.00 - $30.00 / hr

    • Other Compensation: Discretionary Bonus Plan

    • All Compensation is commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market and operational factors.

  • Benefits: Medical (including FSA and HSA offerings), Dental, Vision, Life insurance, Disability insurance, 401(k) savings plan, Employee Stock Purchase plan, Paid Time Off: 18 days, Eight Paid Holidays, Paid Sick Time (in geographies where legally required).

Washington Time Off and Leave

Management and Support Roles : Employees working in the state of Washington will receive the following time off and leave benefits:*

Short-Term Disability Benefits: RGP provides eligible employees up to 12 weeks of paid leave for total and temporary disability due to illness or injury.

Maternity Leave: For pregnancy and childbirth, female employees may receive up to 8 weeks (40 days) of paid Maternity Leave.**

Parental Leave: RGP provides 2 weeks (10 days) of paid Parental Leave for the birth or adoption of a child.**

Bereavement: Up to 3 days of paid leave (additional time may be available under PFML)

Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML): The state-administered PFML fund provides qualified employees with the following maximum leave amounts per calendar year: (a) up to 12 weeks of paid family or medical leave, (b) up to 16 weeks of leave when family and medical leave are used in combination, and (c) an additional two weeks of leave due to pregnancy complications, (d) up to 7 days bereavement leave.

Jury Duty Leave: Up to 5 paid days

Military Leave: Up to 21 days of paid leave during a one-year period.
